The mission of the Department of Visual and Performing Art is to provide an undergraduate degree in Visual and Performing Arts with a concentration in either, Dance, Theatre, or Visual Art. This is accomplished with a faculty committed to excellence in teaching, scholarship, creative activities and service. The curriculum is designed to develop the knowledge, the theories and the skills needed to be accomplished in the either of the fields. A full program of productions in Dance, Theatre, or Visual Art is offered. The broad preparation at the undergraduate level develops a foundation for the various areas of concentration. The department strives to help students acquire and develop the tools they will need in or to succeed in their future pursuits. The Department of Visual and Performing arts has and continues to demonstrate an ongoing connection, rapport, and reciprocity with the community. Our mission is to educate and entertain our community; thereby enriching the cultural life. The community maintains an appreciation for and an understanding of the department’s inherent goals. These goals include aesthetic exposure for the public, educating the masses, and strengthening the program.
